Lol, thanks SJ. I msy just ssve my Disco for as BT rainy day then. Do you pay back your bt right away or make big payments?
I usually pay it back in less than a month.
Got my first Discover It in September 2017. I loved the cashback match so much, that I went for it again after a year was up.
My credit score was 698 last year for the first card, and was 740 for the second. They pulled experian this time, but I can't remember last time.
My oldest line of credit is 18 years, long since closed. My total open lines of credit are under 2 years in age. I had five inquiries on experian when they pulled. My salary is in the low $50k range.
I got 14 months of no interest, and cashback match for both cards!
1st card was a $10,000 limit and I had three "love button" CLIs for $500 each, which brings it to $11,500 now. I'm due for another CLI, but I haven't hit the button.
2nd card has a $7,500 limit, which is perfectly fine for the amount of spend that I'll be putting through it monthly. It will be my 2% "everything else" card as well as using the quarterly categories.
Once the new card is out of it's cashback match, I'll probably transfer as much of the limit over to the older card as they will let me, and then either close the newer card or just sock drawer it until they close it for me.
I'm very pleased with the Discover It card.
I have the pre-approval for the Discover Miles card (this would be my second). Just can't get myself to pull the trigger. lol.
Today, I pulled the trigger on my second Discover card (Decided to go for a Miles so I could take advantage of the Amazon $75 statement credit deal). I received my Cashback bonus today and my statement cut yesterday. I do the Scorecard and attempted a prequalify in hopes of NOT getting an inquiry (that didn't work). My Discover TU FICO (10/3) was 746 and my free EXP FICO (10/6) was 765.
After the prequalify which said I qualified for the Miles on a $33,000 income, I went to the Amazon deal and got approved for...$1,000.
I expected more since I've managed to get my IT up to $8,500. I guess I'll attempt a CLI on the Miles in three months and shift some of the IT credit. And, after the EXP inquiry my score dropped down to 757 (again, based on my free EXP FICO). Not sure about the double cash, although there shouldn't be anything preventing it.
I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask but do you get two FICO scores with two Discover cards? I was able to get the option to log into both accounts with a single log-in and both cards direct you to the same score.
No its the same score for two discover cards... but you can get a second (different CRA) score with Discover using Credit Scorecard.....
