I received a Discover mailer today, apped, and was approved for $4K. I found it weird that a) I didn't get an email saying congratulations or similar and b) I have recieved no notice from any of the bureaus that there was an inquiry. I took screenshots of the approval and credit limit pages just because I thought it was so strange. They said I would receive my card and info in 5-7 days. Is this the usual procedure for Discover? I'm starting to worry it was all a dream or unfunny joke
I didn't receive an email and the inquiry took days to report. If you think your eyes were deceiving you, go to the status page and look again lol 😂
This is somewhat normal for Disco. I don't recall getting an approval e-mail after applying either. I do know though that it's a 50/50 shot of getting an e-mail after getting a CLI and those even take 3-7 days for them to send something confirming the increase. You'll probably get the confirmation after you get the card. When I apped they pulled EX but, many others report either TU or EQ depending on location.
Thank you- this really helps. Every other card I've been able to get has sent me a love letter via email immediately and I've seen the inquiry right away. The EX pull notice came this morning, so that along with the comforting emails means I can relax and wait for my new purple card in the mail
Same thing happened to me. I applied for the IT card on 5/31 and instatntly was approved for 9k. I didn't receive a confirmation email, and when I called the CSR said I'll receive a letter in the mail. This morning, I finally received a Welcome to Discover email letting me know that my card has shipped.
Speaking for myself, when I was approved for the Discover IT I got a screenshot of my approval splash screen right away so I had proof even if I didn't get an email. Now that I think of it, I did the same thing with the Overstock Store Card (I didn't get a "love" email then either).
Congrats on the approval, you will be fine. Now ramp up the spend for the next 12 months. Everything is double cash back for the first year!!
