Discover declined my request for a CLI. I received the letter today. The reason I was declined is:
LOW USAGE ON EXISTING LINE OF CREDIT IN PREVIOUS MONTH(S)
TU FICO: 750
At least it wasn't a hard inquiry! I'm not going to up my Discover usage, though.
If you aren't going to up your usage with them, it's highly likely they'll just keep denying for that same reason going forward.
I received Discover denials for almost one year and I was only charging $15 to $20 here and there but on March 31, 2022 I actually charged the x-rays and scans for my major dental surgery . . . I charged it and paid if off right before the statement cut . . . then a few days ago I submitted a CLI and it was surprisingly approved for $1,500 . . . so I'm happy as all outside!!!
Discover loves usage. And is jealous. They want to be your main card. I used the snot out of them when I got the card, then cards, and then combined. If you have no desire to use it. As @OmarGB9 stated. No soup for you in the famous words of @AverageJoesCredit when he tried with usage years ago.

You might not have to up the usage much. I was stuck with my Discover for a long time, I would ask for a CLI every 6 months and never get any love, I did not really use the card at all after the first year when the cash back match ended. I then started to use it a little bit, maybe 20% utilization on it at most, for a month or two. The next time I asked for a CLI I got the auto approval from $15k to $18.5k, It wasn't a huge bump, but It seemed to indiacte what their hangup was.

Well, you're almost certainly right that no usage no CLI. However, I didn't post this information for me. I hoped this information would be useful to someone else. In reality, it's hard for any card to beat my Vantage West 5% cash back and my Citi Custom Cash 4% cash back. Discover just isn't even in the running. But, they did update my FICO (as they do once a month) and the score was high. They also gave me some checks and a balance transfer offer. So, I thought I might be due for a bump. Not so.

It appears you have 2 Discover CCs in your signature (unless it's not up-to-date). What are the current limits on each? Which one did you request the CLI? When was the last time it was used?

Not up to date. I closed one because Discover asked me for a 4505-T or some such form? To give all my info over to Equifax. So, the $8,900 got closed, but I still have a $7,000 going.

Ok, so it appears you had a BT on the card before you paid it down on 3/10. How long were you carrying the ~$3K balance on the card? And, which one did you keep, Chrome or the other?
I would also recommend updating your signature so that whenever any questions arise or you ask the community for feedback, folks can taylor their responses based on some of the information or data from your signature. In other words, why have a siggy if it's not up-to-date. Otherwise, most folks would assume you currently have 2 Discover cards.
