Discover CLI HP Friendly

i want to do a credit limit increase on my Discover it i currently have 5k which was the amout i was opened with around August last year. i want to know if i do an online CLI is discover bound to HPs. 

i also heard of doing it canceling it and doing it for a higher amount. 

and i currently have 500 balance but i make several payments in the months and it will a 0 balance at the end of the month.

UPDATE:

WENT AHEAD AND DID THE ONLINE CLI AFTER I HIT SUBMIT FOR 5K I WAS TOLD A HP WOULD BE NEEDED FOR FURTHER REVIEW. I CLICKED CANCELED AND DID IT AGAIN FOR 3K THEN IT SAID I WAS NOT APPROVED THE INCREASE... ATLEAST IT WAS NOT A HARD PULL .

lol 5k is more than enough but you know the more the better !

Yes you can ask for a CLI online and if it's a HP you can cancel the process. Good Luck

Yes you can ask for a CLI online and if it's a HP you can cancel the process. Good Luck

Good luck & congrats on the $5,00 limit. I've had my Discover card 3 years, with almost $30,000 in the bank with them & just LAST WEEK got approved for $4,300.

Tried with a limit increase from $3k to $5k, no joy without a hard pull. Retried with an increase to $4k, still no joy. It's nice, though, that they let you know so you can cancel before an inquiry is done. My account is only six months old.
