How on earth do you get a CLI out of Discover? They were my first credit card. They graduated to a regular credit card and never received an increase. I use at least 40% of it every month and PIF. They do send me attractive balance transfer offers, but my limit has remained at $500 (lowest)
I have this same issue. My card is the same ($500 SL, never an increase), except it did not start as secured.
I have read almost every thread on Discover CLIs here on myFico and nothing I have tried has worked.
From what I've gathered, there is no real rhyme or reason with them.
After a year, you can get another card with them in addition to the one you have, but you also have the option to close and reopen a new account
*Edited to mention I have had the card since 2013

Same issue! No CLIs ever and a lovely CLD last month.
What reason(s) did they say on the letter for the CLI denial?

I'd wait it out a little longer. Looking at your siggy, you've added nine accounts since you opened Disco. They toughned up their underwriting this last year, and cli's seem to be few and far between for many. Congrats on your progress, try again when it is a year old.
I think what's holding them back in giving you a CLI is because you have recently opened too much credit in a short span of time. I was getting CLI's from them every month until I added another AMEX (3rd AMEX acct.) last Sept. and since then, they've stopped approving my CLI requests. Just continue to garden for about 6 mos. then try again.
Take that 40% of your limit spend down to 1% or even 0% for a cycle or two. Don't give up rewards, so if you're making purchases in their 5% category definitely still swipe the card, but not for anything else. Move any non-5% category spend to other cards. Show Discover some tough love and perhaps they'll reward you with a CLI. 2 months ago I got a $5500 CLI from them after a $5 (single swipe) spend the previous cycle.

Discover either loves you or they haven't discovered you, lol. Probably the most frustrating creditor in terms on how you get increases. Best advice i can give is probably just give them the tuff love approach and use other cards awhile and see if that opens the wallet. Not everyone will see 5k increases from tuff love but in time you may see something or at least get a South Jamaican Special
AJC it's funny that you said that because, The last time I called in for a CLI request and was denied, I joked about it and said that they probably just don't like my profile. And the CSR said. "Well, you can say that" and further expounded that there are profiles that they monitor and review more frequently than others. Well, not our loss right?
I just got a $300 Cli off the luv button. Decrease Util and keep trying every month for a cli. Discover is conservative at least with me! and I have only gotten a total of $600 total Cli in the 18 months. I now only use it for gas and leave $18 bal. This was my second card used as balance transfer and always had it maxed out.
