Ok so I was approved last month for a Discover IT and although im happy with my limit for now ($4500) I was just curious what discover is like for CLI's. Esp in this new covid climate! I know its YMMV and I know disco can be all over the place at times. But i guess Im just looking for some experience with this card. When was your first CLI? How much? Auto luv or requested?
I thought i read on a post that since covid , new accts are being made to wait 12 months before a CLI? Curious....
Thanks guys!
@Doodlebug30 First off congratulations on your new DISCO (can't wait to get mine) But I have also read it's 12 months from first card but then after that I have read you can ask every month if you wanted but they will let you know if it will be a HP beforehand. I just also want to follow this because I may be apping for this card in the near future so I would also like a recent update
@Girlzilla88 Thank you! This was my goal card and I was thrilled to get it! Utilizing the amazon 5% for Christmas 😃
Maybe someone else can chime in too!
Twelve months for a CLI on a card opened during covid seems to be the policy. I opened my second Disco (a Chrome) last September. Got a CLI in December 2019 after three months. Once covid hit, nada. I had to wait until the account was a year old after that, and got a CLI after my cash back match had posted to my account, which turned out to be a year of statements, not a year of having it.
Also, not saying it can't happen but I've never read of a HP on a CLI from Disco.
I have a discover it cc with a $5500 cl this was the sl when i apped for it 4 yrs ago, first increase I've ever tried for with discover, i tried for a cli 10/24/2020 and was denied and the reason was low usage 😆, turned around and did a cli on my citi dc with a $5500 sl and was instantly granted $2,000, go figure
After 10 months of nothing. I got a $400 CLI last month, and a $500 this weekend. So it's not completely cut off right now.

You think theyll be more generous after covid is calming down and things go back to normal? I feel like ive been doing really good with my cash back card but havent gotten any cli this year besides the $500 I got back in March, my income has even increased this year and still nothing. Would be awesome if they got generous and gave out large CLIs after covid
@Mv350 Good to know! I don't think I'll be hitting that button for awhile but I was just curious if I will really have to wait 12 months!
