I always get the "insufficient experience with credit limit" message blah .. no luv for me since March ... only got two 500 increases since I had th card (Oct 15) .. oh well.Feel your pain and the strain.
Aside from the US Bank card, Discover is next in line as my single oldest card account.
Have yo had any luck with US Bank? They WILL NOT give me a CLI, no matter what I do. Keep on giving me new credit, but won't budge on open accounts.
Also, I couldn't agree more on Discover. $500 every 91 days. Better than US Bank, but takes FOREVER to grow that particular line at that rate.
So so glad you would mention this.
US Bank seems has no problem wanting me to open new card accounts from a couple recent mailed preapprovals but no dice on the single oldest card i have that's with them.
But, i also haven't tried in awhile either. Next month i plan to try a $1500 request in hopes if they do, it will be SP CLI only but then again what if it's a HP when i don't request a new line to $5K? Current line is the lowest of my profile at a mere $3K. A $1500 request if approved still wouldn't be enough to make the card eligible for a Cash+ PC either.
Weirdest lender for me so i tender it with very light use, PIF and sockdrawer the thing for months at a time.
It's only serving the purpose of being my oldest card line and that's it unfortunately, but then that's their fault that it doesn't see but occasional small usage.

When I combine my Cap 1 accts next week, my US Bank Kroger acct will be my oldest open acct. It's still got its $500 SL. But I have 3 cards and a PLOC that have my total exposure with them at $9500.
Even worse, the only card I actually applied for was the abovementioned Kroger card. I went into my branch to PC that card when I found out I was being transferred to a town without any Kroger brands. Instead of PCing the $500 card, they gave me a $2k Cash Rewards card.
Then a personal banker in my new town called to offer me a PLOC. A few weeks later, she called back to offer me a $6k super low APR (with 15 months at 0%) card.
It's a peculiar way to do business, IMHO.

I would have had and likely been satisfied from more interaction with US Bank. I mean there are some branches across the river in Kentucky and even one as soon as i come off the bridge.
Many times ago i had planned to have a one on one with them in person but then when i saw that they nerfed the beejeebus out of Cash+ i totally lost interest in it altogether and besides, their competitors were cleaning their low limit clock in large fashion so i didn't feel the need to take chances when i was getting nice drops on the order of $5-$15K start lines.
Why bother anymore right?
That's the same impression they always seem to give to my card with them. It works both ways.
As with any creditor, CLI will be determined based on what your profile and income qualify for. I've had no problems with either Discover or US Bank. The last 2 Discover CLI's have been 4 digits for me. US Bank doubled my limit. YMMV depending on your credit profile and income.
I applied for an increase today and it was approved for $500. My current limit now is $13,500. When I first got the card back in February 2015, I was approved for $11k and I swore it was a typo. It was my only card that was ever that high. Before that, I only hard a Amazon store card (now closed by creditor) for $2500. A couple months later, Discover increased it to $13k automatically.

If Discover would lay just 1, and i mean only 1 of those 2 day messages for my own account, and with just 1 cli better than the current 91+ day $500 routine i been seeing i think i might faint.
They sure know how to push my button of anxiety from the waiting.
Have faith. Your fat increases are coming.

Was bored today at work and thought hey, what the heck let's see how generous they're willing to be...got another 2-day message, kinda worried they're gonna get mad at me lol...hope for the best!
Any update or still waiting?
