Discover - Denied for being unable to verify credit references...

Discover could not find me in scorecard but found me a "pre-approval" when I clicked "Find My Offer". I filled out the app and that is the reason for the denial.

Unable to verify credit references/application information

Anyone know what it means? I got approved iwth Capital One with the same exact information so I don't know what the problem is.

Sounds like they couldn't match you to your CR.  Could always call and see if they can pull a different one that does have your info on it.

Capital One pulls Transunion while Discover pulls Experian it means there's something different in your Experian report.

<mod edit>  It's against the TOS to advocate filing a CRA dispute for anything other than it's intended purpose.  --UB

@Matt Cap1 pulls all 3 not just TU and discover doesn't always pull EX (they pulled EQ when I got it and when my mom applied)

Dragontears - OP is referring to Creditwise which is a Capital One product offering free Vantage scores. Those scores are taken from Transunion.

I don't see where the OP mentioned a score from cap1, just that they got approved by cap1 for a card

If I told you I got approved for Discover you'd assume I meant one of their credit cards, but in fact they offer many products as does capital One, my point is OP could be referring to being approved to use Creditwise service.

The basis is this statement, "Discover could not find me in scorecard"

This is essentially Discover's version of CreditWise only they use FICO Experian while CapOne uses Vantage Transunion.

I think you are reading more into this than you need to especially since the last I heard you can only get cap1 scorewise if you have/had a cap1 card.
It sounds like the OP doesn't have a FICO yet and that is the issue they are having
