Discover IT Question

I apoligize if this is the wrong place to post this question. This is my first post.

I have been lurking these forums forwhile (very helpful) and decided to sign up today.

About two weeks ago I applied for a discover IT card online. Was expecting an instant denial but was told to call a number (getting hopes up) to give more information. Called number CS. rep put me on hold for about 2min then came back and told me I was denied but that I could do a joint account. At this time my scores had been in the low 600s. Recently checked my experian score which is now jumped in 656. Today I got a surprised mailer. Purple envelope/card. Must reply by March 31st

I am dying to have this card. Why would they send me a mailer if i was denied so recently. My scores have jumped a bit. My question is should I just toss the mailer or should I reply back later this month? Or wait until my scores have gonewell  into the 700s

Agree want something like 11.24-14.24 or 14.24-17.24.. Otherwise not targeted at all nor did they use your credit to pre-qualify you

Re: Discover IT Question

that was marketing. you don't need to wait until you're in the 700s but look at the denial reasons to help. also see if you can address what is holding you down so much. they at least liked you a little so maybe garden for 6-12 months and try again, or if you have some lates get your payment percentage up some

Re: Discover IT Question

I was denied for high uti. Was at 56% when denied. Payed off balances now reporting at 21%.

Also 12 inquiries.

Guess I'll try back in a year.
