I have had a Discover It secured that seems to be stuck in limbo. I have tried charging a little, a lot, multiple payments, nothing at all, messed with balances, nothing. Never been late, never over the limit, i dont know what the problem is. I see a lot of new people getting converted 7 months in. I have had my credit improved 70 points since account opening, i dont get it. Any advice?
What's your CRs looking like? Any current delinquencies or recent ones? Any derogs? Did you ever IIB a Discover account?
I'm in the same boat.... just had 12 statement cut. still secured. Current scores EX 656, TU 643, EQ 629. all collections have been paid or removed. Still waiting. Patience is a virtue... so they say ![]()

23 months...
23 mo's / mid 600's....
Quit apping, put a small monthly charge on it, setup autopay
Give it a couple more months and you should see some movement. I think as your scores have been working their way up you've been adding to your collection venturing out from the store cards into more prime cards slowly as they'll give you approvals. Making additions while under secured with Disco gets you stuck in the mud sometimes.
austin, thank you i will try that. my statement was about to cut and i didnt have anything charged to it so i put a $5 charge on it. i will set up auto pay
austin, forgot to mention i had one returned payment a month ago because of a major bank error, dont know if that hurts me now but it was nothing at all that i did
Bank errors happen sometimes. Did you discuss it with them? If not maybe reach out when you ask them about graduating. I still think some small activity each month would be the key to showing them some consistency and activity. Afterall it's a computer that makes the decision unlike when it comes to CLI's where it could be either / or.
