18 months secured ??? That sounds cruel. I thought Discover upgraded at 7 months.
That's for everyone else. For me its 18 months, along with low CL, high APR, and no CLI until 24 hours after you close the account. It was hard to pass up.
Just gave the pre approval a whirl came back with 21.99 Apr ....I will pass

Nobody likes a quitter. What's a little interest gouging between friends?

@Anonymous @MyLoFICO. I would bite on this but my current IT Card has 23.49 APR so with only 2 percent reduction it just doesn’t make sense for me.

I hear ya. One thing I will say is with Discover it is remarkably easy to get that lowered. Mine was initially approved at 23.OMG and when I called to see why I had no CLI at graduation they dropped it to 16.something without me even asking. Not promotional either, it was a permanent drop. Might be worth asking about.
Preapproved for Secured
I dont think so Tim
Ill wait until it gives me a non secured offer
For another data point: DH received pre-approvals with solid APRs for both the It and the Chrome. Continued the apps and was denied for both.
DW's original pre-approval was for 10.99% APR on balance transfers for 6 months, and then 23.99% APR after that. The pre-approvals last for 7 days, and I have checked every 7 days for her, but today her offer changed to 0% APR on purchases for 6 months and 0% APR on balance transfers for 18 months then 23.99% APR for the IT Card, or 14 months 0% APR for purchases and balance transfers for 14 months, then 23.99% APR on the Chrome Card. I will update if she decides to apply. I was a little surprised that her offer changed since nothing in her profile changed. Meanwhile, my offer has stayed the same at 0% for 14 months and 11.99% after on IT, Chrome, or Miles, yet my NFCU Flagship hit as a new account on my CR since the last pre-approval.
@Rebeezy I understand that too well! Disco hates me. My Discover IT was one of my first cards and has NEVER received a CLI. Still stuck at 500. And only this year did my scores drop below a 690. I do not understand them.
