Your BK is probably too new.

@Anonymous for this post about the new pre-approval page. I was pre-approved for both the IT and Chrome @ 11.99%. I went ahead and applied because I've been trying for Discover for about a year. I was denied last November. I was finally approved. The thing is though all of my reports are supposed to be frozen... Thanks
Hmm with that kinda Disco approval, you really can think about ditching FIRST PREMIER.... even without it you should consider it

My current Discover It card was approved a little over two years ago at a rate of 20.99, but it's now 17.24% (it was lower before this year's Fed increases), so the 18.99% rate isn't too out-of-line but it's not exactly great, either.
From what I've read in this thread it's suspected that the pre-approval is based on EQ, which would explain a lot... EQ is my lowest score (748).
Since my existing Discover It is now at $21k and I don't have any exceptional Amazon or Target purchases coming up (to take advantage of the double-cash on a new card) I think I'll hold off on this one.
After having no credit for so many years it's easy to want to take every offer, but the last year or so I've learned to be 'picky'.
UncleB....
You really should chat up Miss Disco... See if she has some offers for you... perhaps a permanent APR reduction, or a 12 mo 0% on new purchases is in the cards, or maybe an additional 5% category along with the usual BT offers....
Pass on the prequal, and just sweeten your card up a bit for now =)
who do they sp ?

If I can add my own experience, I was just approved for Discover for 8k. I had to call in as the system was not allowing me access to that info. I am still wary as it would be the largest SL by far of any of the cards I have received since started to rehab my reports so I will believe it when I have it in hand. I just pulled my annual reports and they show that the most recent SP that coincides with this app was EQ, which was about 668 when they did. When kept checking on the Discover pre-approval page, they SP EX. Go figure.

Thank you to UncleB and @Climbingthemountain. I would not have this card with our your contribution. I checked the Discover pre-qualify link and was pre-qualified for Discover IT and Chrome. I applied for the IT and was approved for $3K. Data points TU about 630, this week approved for Target, Paypal 2% MC. About 4 negatives on my report Util about 22% with abot 18K in available credit most of which is authorized user. Again thanks and I hope my info helps someone else.

I got the same pre-approval (except mine says "SunriseEarth," of course). The de facto 4% restaurants for first year of Chrome is interesting, but I could get the Uber card and have 4% dining until that card gets nerfed. I don't really see a good reason to bite yet. It's a shame Discover doesn't have better spend offers.
I believe they soft pull TU
Just got approved for a Discover IT finally! The preapproval site showed me that I was preapproved for the Discover IT and Discover Chrome...instead of applying through the preapproval site I went to Amazon and applied through there so I could get the $75 statement credit. Took me 2 tries to get a Discover card, was denied exactly 31 days ago.
Hey guys .. I tried the preapproval site and got denied due to having a new discover account already
they offered EQ FICO score but didn't say which version
do you think its FICO 8 ??
