Discover Pre-Qual page - no offer right now

What would cause the response below?  Do I need to opt back in on the optoutprescreen site?

Thank you for your interest in Discover.

Unfortunately, we don't have an offer for you right now.

Rest assured, your request did not impact your credit score.

You can submit a new request for pre-approval in 6 Days.

Story of my life. No preapprovals ever, nor prequals. In this case, could be if you have reports frozen or as i often do, fraud alerts which i understand takes you off the prescreen lists.

Why dont you try signing up for Discover score card. It's a soft pull on EX, and it gives you FICO 8, however, they place prequalified offers in there too

Account set up and saw my report. Nice experience. When I check for my offers it comes back with the same msg as my OP. Sad face.

I was only offered to apply for a secure card, but went ahead and applied, and received $2000 limit on the unsecured cash back card. I'd read on here not to rely on the prescreened offers.

Well it’s just that pre-screened offers tend to have a higher chance of approval, that’s not to say that a cold app won’t, it’s just far less likely that a pre-approval will be denied if your credit has stayed relatively steady since they got the pre-screen data.

Discover I was checking every few months and never had a pre-screened offer until March. Apped when I saw it and got $7500 since they pulled EQ which was my cleanest report.

Its really just meant to avoid wasting a HP as much as possible. And for companies like Amex, you can actually see your APR when you have a solid pre-approval which means the only question mark is your SL.

Oh so I need to be opted in to prescreen offers? I opted out years ago but last night I opted back in. The optoutprescreen site said it could take 5 or 6 days to process my opt in request. I pull my 3B Ultimate next week anyway, I can wait.

If you opted back in, it will be interesting to see how many more offers begin to pop up, or even how soon.
