As the title says... I was pre-approved for a Discover secured card, but am not sure yet which bank account I would use to pay the deposit if I'm officially appproved. I know some issuers (like Cap One) give you a couple of weeks, but I'm not sure if that's true of Discover. Anyone know?
Thanks in advance...
OK, I have my answer. I just went ahead and did it, and yes - they want their money immediately! So in case anyone else ever comes with the same question, and does a search, they'll have their answer.
Something else happened that was very interesting. At the exact moment Discover was approving my application, I received an e-mail notification from Experian that there had been a change in my credit file. So while waiting for Discover's hamsters to spin their wheel, I logged onto Experian, and found that my FICO 8 score had jumped from 650 to 670. A moment later, I got an e-mail from Discover saying I had been approved for the secured card. It's possible it could have been a coincidence, but the timing is very odd. It appears that Discover approving me pumped another 20 points into my FICO score.
Probably something else that triggered the update. A HP isnt going to gain points. Congrats on getting the secured.

Thanks for the DP.
As far as your score jumping, definitely coincidence. As Firemedic said, HPs don't increase score. They typically either drop it, or are neutral.
