I have seen a lot of reports of people taking the HP and then only getting $500.
For myself I got an increase about 3-4 months ago then got the message insufficient experience at current limit for 3 months afterwards then after that got denial for other reasons with one of them saying past or present delinquency and i have no delinquency on any of my bureau reports. So here's what i did. I applied for a new card (you are allowed 2 discover cards if your first card is over 12 months old). And you know what i got a new card with an approval for $7,500. They wouldn't increase my current limit but they gave me a brand new card for $7,500 go figure. Doesn't make much sense to me but that is the way i handled them. That being said the deal on the new card for balance transfers sucks worse than the one i currently have. They are wanting around 10.9 percent for a balance transfer on the new card whereas my old card is offering me 0 percent for 12 months and 4.99 percent for 18 months. Discover is all over the place however i was happy to get a 7.5k limit. It's not my highest limit for a bankcard. I just got one of my cards to 10k but it is a synchrony branded master card and the rate on it pretty much sucks for carrying a balance.
They finally relented. Got an alert on the discover app around 11am today about a CLI. Checked and saw a 5.9K CLi to 16K. I quickly logged online and hit the Luv button again and got an extra 600. This was after moving about 95% of the limit into my checking account (take advantage of the 4.99% APR BT and no BT fee for quick transactions and pay it off before it reports). Limit now at 16600..Had to bleed on this one...SMH.. All Hail Discover....
Nice work and also good job getting a mini double dip in as well!
