I have found Discover to always be somewhat lenient in lending. Disco was my first decent limit, and it was for many other members too. Congrats!!
I think Discover has always catered to weaker profiles relative to most other lenders. "Weak" can come from a variety of factors such as less than stellar payment history, young files, thin files, etc.
Scores don't exist in a vacuum. On an earnings call about a year ago, DFS management expressed optimism about low CC default rates given low unemployment.
I actually just got denied last night for the Discover IT card, their reasoning when i called the recon line was "too many new revolving accounts in the past 24 months" and that i didnt have a "large enough payment history in those accounts "
mind you i have a 770 experian score, 65,000 in total credit line with 9% being utilized. Have several closed loans from the past few years that were paid on time, AND i have an average account age of 7 years with the longest being 10. The only accounts i've opened in the last 24 months was a auto lease on Nov 2018, an Amex gold on april 2019, and a chase freedom as well on april 2019....
Yikes, denied for too many new accounts at 3/24!

Hi and welcome to MyFICO
Question: Are you only making minimum payments or close to it? I suggest when you don't PIF, try to at least make 5-10x the minimum payment.
What is your DTI? The reasons given may be related to that too and have them concerned.
Discover is a big crap shoot. On my Disco #1, I spent two years with "not enough experience at current ..." with small CLIs here and there. When it hit 2 years old, they doubled it from 6K to 12K.
My usage was pretty consistent throughout (almost all category spend), but I did decline a couple CLIs just before the big one.
I pretty much PIF on all my Cards, except with my newly opened Chase freedom unlimited, made a decent sized purchase using the 0% intro APR and even then im paying like 7x the minimum.
As far my DTI, according to my crude calculations, im at anywhere from 30-37%? idk
