Discover data for increase

Hi all,

Just wanted to share chat answer from Discover today, the rep said this when I asked:

I am showing you have been with us less than three months. Discover Card periodically evaluates credit lines for a possible increase; however, we do not generally increase the credit line on accounts that have been open for less than three months. When your account reaches three months, on September 7th, we will be able to process your request either through the website application or over the phone.

After Sept 7th We do ask for your permission on the online application to pull your credit report if it is needed. If you would like to process the application over the phone, we can process the request up to the point of the credit report pull and withdrawn from the application at that point with no hard inquiry. If you would like to speak with a specialist after this date to avoid a hard inquiry you can contact us anytime at 800-347-3085.

I also jumped the gun with AMEX by a day I think so I will try again by the end of the week.

After reading what the Discover rep said is he implying it will def be a hard pull in September?

Re: Discover data for increase

i used my card during the 90 days (quarter 2, eating) and didnt get a CLI. I've been getting straight denials until my credit score improved AND updated when my statement closed. i got a 50% increase after hitting the luv button. Hit it again and got the 2 day notice. they raised it 100 dollars more in a day. Lol.....

I believe the rule of AMEX is that once a request is made and whether it is denied or  approved, another request in less than 90 will be denied.  So wait until you have reached the 91st day after your denied increase before requesting an increase again.
