I have 2 AU cards. 30 year histories, no baddies, but one's util is 31%, total util is 28%. Vantage 3.0 is ~720. I've decided to try for the amazing 22-30% cash back offer for new Discover it cardholders. But does Discover even consider AUs? If not, what are the chances of someone with no credit at all getting a Discover it card on their first try?
Last year in September I got approved for a Discover it with absolutely no history, basically my CR's were a blank sheet of paper with my name and address. Discover seems to be ok for appying if you have no history, but with a clean report. You should be fine.
Wasn't this exact same question asked yesterday? Although trying to link the thread I can't seem to find it..
Apply if you get denied it is not the end of the world and most likely you will be suprised and be approved as already stated Discover and Amex both LOVE thin and clean profiles

@OP Have you applied yet? as no one can say w/o a doubt concerning approval.....chances are good.... go for it... !!!!!!!
Good Luck !!!!!!!!!!![]()

That thread convinced me to apply, which is why I came over to the applications forum. But it didn't seem too late to ask for advice or experience if someone had already done what I was going to.
But I've now decided to hold off until people on other sites can confirm that this 22% cash back deal is working as expected, and Discover publishes the terms and conditions. So in the meantime, if anyone can add a data point of experience applying for Discover it with no previous cards in their name, please do! At this point, though, I'm going to do it, as long as this deal is confirmed as working.
