Discover prequalified APR & limit question

I prequalified on discover but it shows the highest possible APR. Does this mean I'll get stuck with a tiny limit and should just leave it alone for now? Or have some of you received the highest APR but a usable limit? Thanks.

Re: Discover prequalified APR & limit question

You can get a decent CL with high APR, .. I am not guaranteeing that, but it is possible.

You can get Discover APR reductions down the road by calling or chat.

Re: Discover prequalified APR & limit question

Discover sent me a prequal offer letter with a 0%apr then 15.99-18.99% afterwards, that same day before I got it, their prequal site said only the Discover secured card. I still decided to apply and they gave me a 4K limit with 16.99 apr after the 0% promo. Pulled equifax at 677 at the time. Hope that helps

No, that's not what is necessarily means..

If you have short(er) history,  higher utilization, have been seeking credit, it will be reflected in your APR.

Your SL will depend on your overall profile, income, and with Discover, amount of available credit.

Re: Discover prequalified APR & limit question

Miss Discover does entertain CLIs and Temp/perm apr reductions...

Also after the 0% apr it may be lower than the original quoted rate .....

Give it time....

You most likely will not be stuck with this limit but it may take time for it to grow .... and it may not be as small as you dread...
