Some news about Discover's recent errors in CLI denials: Recently Dscover has been denying CLI requests on accounts that were at one time secured. Their system is flagging these accounts as still being secured, and is therefore denying them. The reason stated on the denial is BANK INFORMATION NOT RECEIVED. I chatted with a credit rep about this two weeks ago after my first denial, and she said to just try again. So I did. And again I receieved the same denial. So I just called them, and the rep said that they are aware of the bug, and they're working on fixing it. He told me to give it another week, and try again. So, hopefully in a week this will be fixed. Kind of a pain, honestly.
Anyways, hope this post reaches the eyes of those who may have recieved this denial. Let's keep our fingers crossed for one of them generous Discover CLI's! Cheers.
There are already a few posts on this issue. They seem to be saying that it will be remedied by the end of March. For awhile they were telling people to just give it 48 hours and try again. Seems the end of the month processing they're looking to clear it out of the system.
Fixed as of today. I got a CLI from $200 to $1200.
Well, as you guys have recently been pointing out, it does appear to be fixed as of today. Unfortuantely, I was denied. When I first applied for the CLI everything was looking good, FICO around 750. Then along came a pre-qual for Barclaycard Arrival+. Obviously, I couldn't pass that one up. So now I'm sure my denial will complain about the score drop, and added account. :/ Bummer. Definitely worth the new account, but still, if there was never this CLI issue, I would have had both and would have been a happy camper! Time to play the waiting game...
Thanks for posting this!
