So Discover sent me a pre-qualified mailer. I thought they said they were not going to be focusing on trying to get new customers?
With that said I wont be taking it tho but thought i'd mention it.
Getting new customers may not be their "focus", but it is a part of their business at all times....even now.
I was thinking maybe they like OP's profile and pre-qualed them off of a CB soft pull?
Boss lady just responded to a mail offer a couple weeks back and was given a 3k SL. I'll admit I was jelly of this.
Anyway, if they like you, they like you. No reasons behind it, 14 mo 0% plus cashback match. Why not?

With Discover tightening down probably a good chance they'll hit you with a 4506-T. Having to deal with that with limited customer service during the pandemic will be no fun. Why I didn't go for it. Sounds like they didn't have to do it.
10% cash back the first year I guess doesn't have the same value proposition as what it would in normal times.
I finally activated 5% cash back for this quarter with gas, uber, lyft on the menu. Next quarter is 5% restaurants.
Discover runs promotions with Amazon for 20-30% discounts by using one Disco point. This far exceeds the 5% discounts by Chase Amazon Prime which requires you to maintain a prime subscription. For the winter quarter Discover is 5% Amazon.com for its quarterly bonus but you add Target.com and Walmart.com to what you can get the 5% on.

Disco has been accepting bank accounts for verification since COVID-19 started so it's arguably easier to get through it now if they ask. You can do a lot worse than Disco. They gave me my largest limit right out of the gate and they're still one of my creditors with the highest exposure, sitting at ~84% of my income. Well worth the risk when you're building.

Ditto. I went the secured route out of bk, took 14 months to graduate. But, at 12 months, they gave me an interest rate < 20% and a SL 14.5k. The year of cash back match is nice too. Makes either the 5% categories card a flat 2% when off category (and a whopping 10% when in category) and the Miles card a 3% on everything for the first year. Really hard to beat.

I have no reason to believe I will be asked to provide any or all tax information to Discover. Plus I always put my last years AGI in the income. So if I had to, it will match what I make, not including any grants and scholarships I receive from school. I also just called into Discover the other day. Barely a wait time at all. As far as customer service goes, Disco is the best I've ever dealt with, them and T-mobile

Seriously love T-Mobile. My only regret was waiting so long to switch to them. We save almost $100/month and the customer service is spectacular.
