Out of curiosity, if Discover were to give you an auto-CLI would you accept it or stick to the limit you're at?
Interesting question.
I think they don't ask when they do an auto-CLI, so if they do maybe you need to tell them to cancel it. In my case I don't expect an auto-CLI, I'm not using the card more than 1% the limit, but if they do, I think I will cancel the increase.
Yes, you can always call and request a CLD if you receive an auto-CLI that you don't want.
Funny how this works though as when you get an auto-CLI with Discover and hit the button line again right after you usually just about double it
we should start one of these discover threads with datapoints for approval of people who have a bk on file and or have burned discover with a bk
There are several posters in this thread with BK......me included.
I was approved 6.5 K 1 year from my Bk 13 discharge date which was a 5 year payment plan. I did not burn them in BK
9 months out of BK. From 1500 then 2 luv CLI's at 58 & 88 days to 3500. Still waiting for auto CLI. 4th statement cut yesterday. Average 500-700 spend
Most of the data we have seen indicates that auto CLIs with Discover come in the first 60-90 days of opening the account and as time goes on the chances of receiving one seems to decrease. The exception to this is people that simply never request CLIs. If you never ask for one, naturally your chances of an auto-CLI will increase. Since you already manually requested CLIs twice in the first 90 days of having the account, those CLIs more or less took the place of an auto-CLI which you likely would have received had you not requested them yourself.
