my wifes discover IT approval with no hard pull was a pre approval
I applied through my scorecard account and they pulled both Equifax and Experian.
Just to prove how crazy Discover is, here is a tale of two cards:
My wife has scores in the that are around 720, except for her Experian, which is at 675. She started with a $12,000 CL and got a $500 CLI at 90 days. Today was another 90 days. She got a $4,000 CLI.
I have scores that are between 722 and 736 in FICO 8 and all of my scores overall are in the 700s. Starting CL of $3,000, CLIs of $500 each every 90 days for the first nine months. Declined yesterday. Sock drawer time, especially since I have cards with much higher limits.
I got ahead of myself and hit the CLI button before making a payment..got the 2 day notice. lol
111 days in and probably my second denial. I'm at about 50% utlization although this seemed to work for some others here. Any chance paying in full right now will get me a CLI? Lol

When you make CLI requests they go off of their last pull on file, so making last minute changes usually wont count for anything.
That was probably where I went wrong last time I tried a CLI - they were going off the February 28th pull and a lot of the data from my round of payoffs (and successful CLI's which took place around March 8th) hadn't recorded yet. I'll give it another shot next month.
Probably so. It's always good to give things a little extra time if you have significant changes going on with your credit profile to ensure that the lender is seeing the most updated (and better) information.
