Still don't quite understand their methodology.
I was maxed out on the card (and all revolving credit) for well over 16 months with a $1100 limit. Before I had even begun paying everything down, I got a $500 auto bump in February for some reason with 98% util reporting on the card (scores in the 610s). Waited until overall util was down to 48% and Discover card had been PIF for one statement on 5/4 (including additional usage PIF), got another $500 luv button increase (678). Called and asked for more and they said no go without an HP; I declined at that point. Decided to call back a few days later, and they said I can't request again for 30 days and wouldn't even make a HP. Tried online, confirmed failure.
Luv button yesterday online (31 days from last request), outright denial (scores now 720s). Luv button again today online, offered $500. Going to call in later.
Both Discover's score and creditscorecard.com show scores in the 670s - 680s so its outdated by close to a month. I'm actually at 0% revolving util now, so taking some hits for that and closed CFA loans reporting. No other baddies, just AAoA at 3.5 years. Have a capone at $4500, CU card at $3500, etc.
Is it confirmed the SPs use the latest pulls for the scores they show you? Going to call tonight to see if I can DD.

@AnonymousI have over 35 of them, just spead out over a few months. They could have given me a 100 CLI and saved money by using less paper.
So then, you were actually hitting submitting requests say 3 times per week on average. That is aggressive. But, I like it - persistence. If you got a $100 CLI, though, would you have really been satisfied and stopped making requests? I know I wouldn't have.
My score just updated this morning on my Discover account, so it's the first time they're seeing my 850. I submitted a CLI request and of course got the expected denial, but I am curious to see which of my negative reason statements drop off with my increased score; they still had 4-5 listed for me when my score was at 840.
I stopped asking about 2 months ago. I have bigger better cards, than to have to go after something on that one card. I may end up doing the AJC special and tell them to close it. Not sure i would app another one tho, discover is not treating me like i would treat me for sure.

Nah, no need to lay off. Until you go 35 weeks in a row requesting a CLI every week and getting 35 insufficient experience denial letters, you haven't requested enough 😉I have over 35 of them, just spead out over a few months. They could have given me a 100 CLI and saved money by using less paper.
That's ridiculous. Sorry about your experience.
From my limited personal experience, it appears Discover more than anything likes to see large total transactions. They started me at 2500 and got no luv at all after 90 days. But when I tried at the 120 day mark they gave me 500, then I double dipped another 600 for 1100. Did the same thing the next month.
Edit: Just realized it was 30 days since the last SP CLI so I hit the luv button again and was actually kinda surprised to see Discover throw another 300 at me to bring It to 5000. No dice on the double dip though, but c'est la vie.
I've always PIF before statement cut so every statement so far has been 0. I did however max out the $1500 5% cap every quarter since I got the card in Nov last year, and that's about the only thing I can think of that may have helped.

There’s no method to their madness. I’ve tried all the tricks here and the card is 11 months and still I haven’t gotten a single CLI. I only asked once a month or every few months.
My DH got the card 3-months ago did all the same tricks as me and just got a $500 CLI.
The card is pretty, but for me it doesn’t grow.
Perhaps your profile/scores just need to improve a little bit more. I would think once your profile is in a place that lands your scores in the 710-750 range that Discover growth would start happening more. The bulk of my increases came when I was in that range and they slowed down when I was out of it.
Per my previous post, DD last night failed. Offered a HP on TU, I declined. This time the rep said something different:
"You can keep trying again online, we review credit line increase capabilities every 30 days". This suggests to me it's on a certain day possibly vs. needing to wait on a 30-day train etc.
Scores still show 678 on their apps instead of current 728 so I'll try again first week of July.

My TU score was 654 when I got a CLI from 3900 to 5400. I only had 342 available credit at time! Pretty much MAXED out.
My scores are slightly higher than yours and I just tried requesting the other day after seeing my TU scorecard update on 5/20. No dice.
Also have a $515 balance on the card out of $1,250 and I apped last month and no dice either because of "insufficient experience with current amount of credit"
