I've had a Discover card for 8 years. It sat at around $500 for the first year. I received a couple auto increases and going into 2015 my friend (who is very into credit and how it works) recommended I try for a CLI. I asked why, he explained, so I did it. I jumped from $1,500, to $5,000 to $8,000 in the that year. Summer of 2016 I had a $12,000 limit. Going into 2017 I pressed the button and got to $20,000 in an 8K jump. I pressed it either in that summer or fall and got to $23,500. I figured that was enough and have been sitting there for a while and forgot about it. I didn't like that number and pressed the button in the spring of this year, and got a whole $1,000 more but was hoping to get to $25,000. I just tried and it said insufficient time with balance, but hopefully I can reach $25,000 by the end of the year. It seems that I was able to get huge junks in previous years and that has slowed down quite a bit. Income didn't drastically change any of those years and by spending habits didn't really change. I did put the majority of my spending on the Discover, but we are talking about $700-1,000 a month max. Not exactly big numbers there. Hope this is helpful!

I am happy that after 3 years of denials I was finally granted my first CLI in history of my account opening in 2016. I had a mishap with auto pay and had a 30 day about 2 years ago so I feel that had a lot to do with my denials. I had just paid off my $9xx statement in full and clicked the button and to my surprise I had a Congratulations your approved for $900 on my screen I was so quick to accept I did not get a screenshot or an email... ODD oh well i am very happy with my 1st CLI and hope for many more in coming years.
