Re: Discover unOfficial Data Points

If your last CLI was Dec 17, that's less than 2 months ago, so it's not a surprising denial.  You'll have a better chance of seeing something in March/April IMO.

Re: Discover unOfficial Data Points

Oh, you just meant December of 2017.  I read your post as December 17th, meaning you were probably only at 49-51 days since your last request from my calculation when I replied previously.

Re: Discover unOfficial Data Points

Decided to request a CLI (for the third time since Tuesday) and receieved an instant $2k. The past two requests were instant denials. Last increase of $2300 (auto) was issued on Decemeber 7th. Discover has been good to me the past few months after a long 6 month dry spell.

Personally, I think CLIs are nice but not worth paying for, I would not sacrifice my 6% cash back for groceries on my BCP or other higher cash back spending just to drive up my numbers with Discover, nor would I throw away 10% on gas and wholesale clubs (after cashback match) this quarter just to show them some tough love, all in an attempt to trigger a CLI. I think your Discover spending decisions should be based on maximizing cashback and let CLI chips fall where they may, let your credit work for you not the other way around.

Re: Discover unOfficial Data Points

Tried another CLI request Saturday after my statement cut, no dice. 60 days since my last CLI, so it looks like I'm firmly stuck on the 90/91-day track. Maybe Discover will loosen up a bit once my new QS Visa starts showing up on the reports (it still hasn't though it's been over a month, but Cap One is slow about these things sometimes).
