You can get a store card with a m/c or visa logo? Double purpose with rewards. Or if you don't want an hp, try the shopping cart trick for a dept. store you would like/use. I think Comenity is on fire right now.
Amazon, Lowes for home/general purpose - Easy to get High CLI via chat
Blue Nile/Barneys - Easy to Call in on Phone to get Automated Message CLIs
To the poster that said store cards aren't very good....they have their benefits, especially amazon and Lowe's.
You can get 6,12,24 month financing on Amazon items, and you can get 72 month financing on Lowe's purchases. Blue Nile offers excellent finance offers as well sometimes.
I'd rather have 24 month financing on a 15,000$ Amazon purchase than get a Chase Amazon with a stingy limit and HP CLI's
Wow, your profile is very similar to mine (score-wise), however I do have 25 accounts.
I learned this from this forum:
I already had a Macy's card for about 2 years, but I called in and let them know that I was looking to purchase some furniture, and asked for the "Special Events" or "Special Promotions" line of credit. She asked me how much I wanted, which caught me off guard. I blurted out $5000. She put put me on hold for about 10 seconds and came back and said that I'm approved and the account would be added as a separate line on my Macy's card account. I probably could have asked for more, but didn't want to push it, and am actually surprised that it was so easy. No inquiry either!!!
Now, I don't know if have an existing Macy's card helped. You can call in and ask if you can just apply for the "Special Events" credit line.
Hope this helps.

I'm glad they work for you. I just don't like them, I pay as I go. My large purchases are planned and saved for. However, I will charge them when it comes time to purchase.

I am thinking about Amazon but not their Visa I was denied because I just recently opened a Freedom card with chase so they needed more time to see if I am elible for another one with them. I never use my American Express either. I am asking on here because maybe you guys know of some decent ones that dont have such high interest rates and give good limits
There are several that are known for decent limits. Lowes, (Synchrony), and Overstock, (Comenity), come to mind. But I can't think of any that don't have high interest rates.
