I have existing Amex cards. I had a collections that wasn't mine on my report for 6 months, so my EX FICO was down by over 25 points. I want to apply for an Amex card as soon as they show my new EX FICO score on their site.
Would they be ok with a score that was down for 6 months in a row and is now back up to the previous level? Or should I be waiting until they have 2 pulls in a row that are higher? (I was guessing that Discover wanted mutiple in a row and not just 1 higher month.)

Since they use soft pulls, and the soft pulls are inevitably a month or two out of date, I would wait. It's possible your FICO score on their site is the soft pull they're using, though, so it might be okay to go ahead.
I'm looking to find out if that's the score they use. I know they can be using month-old data, but once that updates, am I good?
I'm still wondering if anyone knows. I want to avoid the Recon process.
I think @SouthJamaica answered your question. Give it a month or 2. No rush. Internally scores will catch up again.

He did answer it, and he's right. It often does only take 1 month to catch up, but we've had multiple members here before who found out the hard way that it isn't guaranteed.

@coldfusionI should have quoted when @Swatch was looking for more posters to answer and @SouthJamaica answered his question already. Thats why I posted that. Yes he was right. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OP followed up specifcially asking x 2 if he was GTG after 1 month. No one else responded that while they likely are multiple data points show that isn't always the case.
Thanks, coldfusion. My question was if if 1 was enough or if I should wait 2. I felt that I was just being told that 2 might be better but 1 might be enough. However, now you have explained it better to me.
