Do anyone knows when AMEX started to do HP for an credit ap?

Question:

I applied for an AMEX EBC today. Denied. I received my AMEX Delta card last month and had a HP.

Well low and behold, I checked my EX acct today and there is a HP from AMEX for the BCE app.

Do anyone know when they decided to allow HP?

I thought once you already had a card with them and you apply you will get an SP if denied or HP if approved (wasted inquiry).

I contacted AMEX and they advise me that they do all HP now if you apply for any of thier products.

It depends on their mood. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't for an existing card holder. I know that, in November, when I got my platinum, there was no HP.

I was HP for both of my cards approved a few days apart. 

Op.....did you prequalify for delta before you apped?

I got the AMEX Delta on a pre-quailfier.... I then tried for the AMEX BCE. This one was a denial..

Just sucks. But oh well. I'll work on my UTL and get that down and re-applied next year.

I am going to garden for the next 12 months.

Oops I meant the BCE on pre-qualify. 

I have the ED (didn't really want it) but I was prequalified. I wanted the SPG but it wasn't there, so I apped for the ED. 

Literally, the next day, SPG was in my offers. So I apped for that too because it's what I really wanted.
