Does AMEX ever give more than 3x CLI

I have been reading all about the AMEX 3CLI stratagies and general questions of how much to ask for once you git some threasholds.  However, I wanted to know if they ever gave more than 3x.  I got the BCE with a 2k CL.  Today marks the 2nd statement (60 days).  Since I first applied my FICO 8 EXP score has jumped about 45 points. I am at 749 on Experian.  my salary is 145k, current over all utilization is 9%, I have 3 AMEX cards, which I PIF.  So, given all that, do you think that more than 3x is possible or dont even try? 💰

You can ask for more than 3X but 3X will be the most that you get.  So to answer your question, just ask for the 3X amount and wait 6 months and ask for 3X again

Is that the standard after successfully getting 3/3x? wait for 6 months and try again?

Yes.  Have to wait 180 days to ask again if approved for any amount of a CLI or you can ask again in 91 days if denied.

Not a requested CLI, but something I never understood, and didn't pry!

As a student, my daughter applied for and got a BCE with a $1K CL.  About two weeks later, without her even using the card, they upped the limit to $8k.

Re: Does AMEX ever give more than 3x CLI

IF you havent had a CLI in 6 months or more try moving some of your SPG limit to the BCE, try for a 3x cli on the BCE then 30 days later transfer the "borrowed" limit back to the SPG. Smiley Happy

Re: Does AMEX ever give more than 3x CLI

You will likely only get the 3X CLI, but it won't hurt to ask for more. On my recent one I requested more just to see what happens, but was counterd with the 3X. lol
