yesterday on sunday i applied for nfcu flagship cc. Today early morning received an email of its being denied. denial letter is on its way but im competely lost by the denial. Im their member for last 10 years, very clean profile,no debt, no baddies, fico8 score is 804. Not too many open accounts, only 14, oldest account 21 yrs ago. Didn't apply for any cc or anything in last 4 years...have nfcu cash rewards card for 5 yrs of limit $34k. Income is very good...its bothering me greatly...do u think I could ask for reconsideration after receiving denial letter? If so, how? Thru emailing them or calling them? What are my chances/odds to be success on reconsideration? Do they ever change their mind on reconsideration? Thankyou.
Edit: my EX report was locked but TU was not...I saw they did HP on TU...hope me locking out EX might not be the reason for the denial???

No Locking EX was not the reason for denial. I'm pretty shocked you were denied with your profile. You obviously have history with Navy. I would recon via SM. Write a precise and humble explanation on why you feel you have been approved . Navy does do recon though not always favorable for some. Good luck 👍
Very mysterious. Any AU on the cash card? Pretty good use on the card? Any history of attempted fraud? Any change in your life circumstances such as court actions, tax issues etc that might lurk? I would definitely look at the letter before asking for recon, look for the Navy internal score in there too (tops out at 450, I got approved for the Visa Sig with a 282 and a less-than-stellar history before 2018). How's your DTI?
