Random question, if you app and are declined, minus the fact that you will have another HP on your CR does a decline hurt your future chances if you say reapp in 6 months or a year?
Did you call and have the app recon? For what were you denied? How many inq and new accts do you have on your reports? What's your util? With your scores, I would think a denial would come with some caveat/explanation (i.e. have you previously burned the co?) The denial reason will tell you better what you should expect with a reapp.
That was my point- the probability of a future decline would be highly dependant upon the reason for the present decline.
No.

No, if anything it should help for when you re apply, assuming you fixed the reasons why you were declined.
I have a macys i was denied the year before, and a chase freedom that I was denied the year before when i found the signup bonus on slickdeals the first time around. Its not like you are rejected at a bar and they remember you next time around. Well to keep that analogy going, a year later you have gotten healthier right? If you have a drastic improvement in income or some baddies stricken from record its worth it to call and let the manual team go all over it because you have an argument there.
One other thing to add, I get your question, simply asking about denial and trying again, but if you are ever in the situation where one specific card or bank is no no no, and you have a credit score already in the low 700s and can get/have credit elsewhere, then do so and enjoy. There are enough cards out there with 0 percent for a year and great transfer offers and so on. I cant get a bofA or citibank, but ill swallow it and carry on.
