UPDATE:
3rd time being declined for a Credit card with them. Had to wait 5 days for them to process it too.
I have a Gold with them that I've ran $100k + through in 2019 and $90k so far in 2020. Never late.
Cant imagine how much they've made off of me in processing fees over time.
Card: Cash Rewards
Score: 713 (according to the denial letter).
Income: 225
Reason: "Our scoring of your credit and other relevant information"
Done with them.

Applied for the Cash Magnet. From inside my AMEX account.
The decision came up as "We've received your application, but we can't give you a decision right now. We'll process your application as soon as possible and send you a letter informing you of our decision within 14 days"
So I called.
The person on the phone said that my application skipped the AMEX system and went straight to the back office. They will let me know within 3 days.
Anyone else ever experience this? I have 0 lates with them.
Did you use the online status check yet?
When I called and they said within 3 days for my Biz Delta, I got approved like a day or 2 later
At least it's not a flat out denial... yet?
Yeah it just says "in progress".
I find it very odd the customer support agent said it skipped the network and went right to the back office.

Let me know how yours turns out
It happened to me when I applied for the Cash Preferred - When I called they said I could only have 5 CC, in order to get the new one I'd have to cancel a current one. Ended up cancelling the Delta Gold...

3 days is not a bad wait time, Good Luck OP!
Not bad at all, on call the rep said they usually process within 1-2, so maybe even shorter
I've never heard of this either. I'll be interested to know what's up when you find out

May the odds be in your favor!
Good luck both of you
