ok, I've made a fair attempt at searching and didn't find anything ....everyone talks about double apping a bank. i.e. applying for Freedom and CSP on the same day
how or what is the correct way to do this logistically?
do you just app both cards one after the other? Do you call in ?
is there a certain protocol to help your chances or avoiding a double HP?
sorry, I know it's a newb question but wish someone would make it a sticky some where....or point me in the right direction.

There used to be what was called a 2bm, 3bm, etc. Multiple browser method. Basically you were tricking the system so to speak. Or people would do app-o-ramas with other banks hoping one wouldnt see the other in rapid succession. This is no longer required. Basically the inquiries are merged, either by the bank or by the bureaus at the end of the day.
Chase can always pull a 2nd bureau, regardless if you go for multiple cards. There is a list of ones that let you combine. I know citi does not (and they can do a 2nd HP). Amex, chase, bank of america, us bank, barclays, etc they all combine. The caveat is amex is only 1 charge card and 1 credit card per day. Chase you can do more than 2, but have to phone in one at a time for approval if not instant. Capital one is a triple pull regardless but you can still app for 3 cards unless you have hit a limit with a number of cards they permit. Chase you can have unlimited cobranded cards. But for CSP, Slate, Freedom, Ink you must have fewer than 5 new accounts in the last 2 years to get approved. Unless of course you have tons of money in their bank and go in branch and beg for approval.
In my experience, Amex had me call in as they thought it was fraudulent. They approved me right away. Not sure how well chase would be for cobranded cards, as its best to not call in, to let it process over the weeks....it could be difficult to app for multiple cobranded cards only and have the inquiries merge? I don't know, maybe not.
You can get to a point where you have so many inquiries they stop hurting your score so much. You could also be new to credit, and adding extra cards could hurt your score more due to a lower average age of accounts.
ok, that's good...so I can just do it on the site apps. ...and call in if there are any issues.
it's more for my spouse...she's been gardening for a while....2yrs maybe....and getting Chase pre-quals but no CSP yet.
As soon as that hits she's apping for CSP and Freedom
I'm waiting for my AMEX 3X date to hit before I try anything else but I will most likely go for something on that date as well.
Thank you for the response

NP. Some folks have even grabbed a CSP, then a Slate and a freedom, and move the limit from the slate to the freedom....all in one. I wouldnt tell just anyone to do it.
Good luck on your amex 3x cli. Mine was denied. Have to wait until november 24th! They have tightened the reigns for sure

I agree, it is. However, I do have one thing to add. I would suggest that the OP make sure that he's applying on the same day in all time zones. I applied for both my Q and V in a matter of 10mins, but because it was so late, they show as different application dates. It was still the same day for me, but I slipped into the following day in the Eastern time zone. The net result is 5 Cap1 inquires across all CR.

Excellent addition!
I honestly never would have even thought about that... that's what I love about coming here - I get to learn from the collective experiences of everyone, both the 'bumps' and the triumphs!

Thanks a lot for your information. Had i known about 2BM or 3BM, i would've tried it when i got my first round of new CC's 6 months ago. I'll be trying this next year. Could you please clarify a few things in still confused about?
This is no longer required. Basically the inquiries are merged, either by the bank or by the bureaus at the end of the day. Chase can always pull a 2nd bureau. If i read this right, Amex, Chase, Bank of America, US Bank, and Barclays will combine if you do multiple apps in one day, regardless if you 2BM or apply once in the morning and once in the afternoon as long as it's the same day? However Chase may pull a second bureau but combine those two bureaus for multiple apps? And Citi definitely will not combine a HP for multiple apps? What is Capital One's stance on this?
Not sure how well chase would be for cobranded cards, as its best to not call in, to let it process over the weeks Hypothetical, if i double app with Chase co-branded and i get approved for the first and i get a 7-10 day letter on the second, don't bother to call or anything? What if they decline because of suspected fradulent activity? The way it's worded, if they do not instantly approve or apprive after a app review, i would be SOL cause i can't call to recon and explain my case. Why is it bad to call with Chase?
This is all great info. Exactly the kind of detail I was looking for.
I'm condsidering a mini app spree this week.
I have a pre-approvals for Freedom , Venture and QS all sitting out there waiting to be plucked.
What I want is a CSP .....but chicken to app and get declined
