Early AMEX cli didn't work for me. wrong info from rep. STORY

I was not one of the lucky ones either I guess. Had my AMEX ED  for a little over a month with 5K starting limit, and after hearing everyones stories of ealry CLI's I decided to test the waters and applied and was given the 7-10 day message. I then called them up and was giving the reason of "low payments". I had only made one payment of $100 with a balance of $1000. I thought the denial wouldve been for not having my account open long enough but it wasnt. Had I wouldve known I would have paid more money before requesting the increase. I tried for a recon to no avail with the same reason being the case of the denial, which then the rep told me I would have to wait 90 days from the denial to request another one. (that sucks!!) Fast forward to today. Bored while at work with nothing to do because of this blizzard here in NY, I go to do my periodic check of my accounts and logged into my AMEX account and the pop up to chat with a rep appeared, So I figured if they can see if I have to wait 90 days to request another limit or if I can request one now being that I had made 60 days by now. The rep told me that I was able to request one now which I did and go the 7-10 day message again. Immediately, they e-mailed me saying that I had just requested an increase and I would have to wait 90 days. So I called to recon again and told them that I just chatted with a rep who told me it was ok to requested another CLI but got a denial because of requesting one before the 90 days. The rep said it's computer generated and that he'll send it for recon. Whats the chance i'll get approved after recon?.. I'm thinking not likely, that they will say that indeed I have to wait 90 days or is it sometimes they will overide certain situations if they see I have an overall good profile??.. or maybe I just need to be patient lol

Thinking not likely, but best of luck.  Did you have a balance still or make more payments to balance this time around?

I believe now is possible to do the 3X CLI early (the 61 days rule, not the 180) but it is a risk, if they didn't SP you, something in the SP doesn't look right, or you only did a partial payment (low) or some other things then you can get a denial. If you get denied then you'll have to wait 90 days. And as you say it is all computer controlled, so unless they manually change something then there will be no approval.

I think is best to wait 61 days to lower the risk, and even this can't result in 100% approval.

I'm very nervous about asking next month.  I've paid my card off twice already.  Once before first statement cut and once after.

I did my cli request over the phone, but I had made many payments. It was at 59 days or 69.

The rumor to do it at 30 is wrong. The successful early achievers, those that got granted cli prior to day 61, were close to the 61 day mark, best was one or two weeks away.

One month no good.

My account was opened on January 29th 2015, I just requested a CLI today (30 days later) and was approved. Starting limit was $15,000. New CL is $24,500.  I didn't want to ask for too much in case it got denied. It appears you don't have to wait at all.  In the past month my score has went up over 20 points after paying off all my other credit card balances. That may have something to do with it, not sure.  But I guess as always YMMV.
