Early warning service and credit card application

I have a Early Warning Service on record. It's brought by some mistake. My credit score is good (around 760). I do have three American Express credit cards, and plan to apply for another one. I am wondering if credit card application will trigger Early warning service and affect my current American Express credit cards? Thanks.

Re: Early warning service and credit card application

After some googling I learned that's a pretty serious thing to have. Not in the good way. However it sounds like it goes on chexsystems which is what banks use to open accounts. So If it's not on your credit reports (experience specifically) then amex won't see it since they don't pull chexsystems. However if it is on your credit report (didn't see if it goes on from my googling) then if lenders or banks see it. They can close your accounts due to that.

Re: Early warning service and credit card application

Although Early Warning Service is a CRA, it is used for retail banking risk managment. Credit card issuers dont use Early Warning Service. Please note there are few CRAs that exist subsurface like ADS, ICS, SageStream, Innovis etc.

Re: Early warning service and credit card application

EWS will keep you from opening a new checking account but if whatever is reported to EWS isn't on the credit report for the bureau that the credit card company pulls, it won't affect you there.
