I applied for a credit card online with my bank (Yadkin Bank)
I thought appling for a credit card through my bank might have better results with 6 months of credit history. Anyway the card is administered by Elan
I would Like to know what you all think my approval odds are, I have an income although it does not report on my credit reports; which I am sure is going to cause problems when applying for credit.
I applied online and got the message that they could not approve my request and that I would get a letter in 7-10days, from that page it requested I click continue which took me through to a balance transfer option, finally to a submission page. When i submitted the application I got a 7-10 day message.
I applied for their American Express cash rewards card; I thought I might have a better chance with them then American Express. I cannot do any prequals which makes applying for any card a 50/50 chance of denial or approval. Could I possibly get in with amex? I just dislike the having to wait for 25 rewards dollars to redeem. thats over $800 in grocery spend by my calculations. I only spend around $500 monthly, I am consistently trying to put more than half of my paycheck into the savings account.
I doubt I will be approved though, I was hoping to add a nice rewards card to my profile. My Fico's are 702 and 728 currently with 6 months credit history.
that is very standard of CC's issued through Elan. When I applied for my Comerica Bank Visa, Parda CU Amex, and Franklin Mint Amex Travel Rewards cards. I got the same deal, no instant approval followd by an option to transfer a balance.
All three cards were approved pulling TU, score in the 730's. within about 4 days after you apply, you should receive a letter with the price you pay for credit. If you get that letter, the card should show up the next day or 2. I think you have good odds.

Yeah Elan rarely gives instant approval so I say your chances are still pretty good.
FYI no one has their income on their credit report
Now I feel like a dummy thanks for telling me Dragontears. I always learn something new on here, I love it!
I'll be sure to let everyone know if I am approved.

Don't use the D word we all have learn over time.
DENIED is a "D" word
