Hey All,
I decided to apply for the Evergreen card on 8/11, after seeing my pre-approval, and got hit with the pending message. I've been feverishly checking the app status (I have a rather large purchase coming up that I'd like to use to get the SUB) and it's still pending.
I know FNBO tends to do manual reviews which can take a bit longer. I decided to call in this morning to see if they needed anything from me.
The CSR was VERY polite but when she checked on the status she said "oh it looks like you JUST applied about a week ago" and I thought in my head 'I wouldn't use the word "just" as a descriptor to a 6 day wait' but maybe this really is the norm.
She then said "underwriting hasn't looked at your application yet" when I asked if there is an ETA on that she said "probably another 5-10 business days before they even look at it". A little bewildered, but still in a calm tone, I asked if 3 week decision times are normal and she said "yep. Anything else I can help with?"
Not sure if UW is just SLAMMED right now and the CSR's are getting fed up with applicants calling, or what?
Anyone else have this type of experience?

It took 8 days for me to get an email approval so you might give it some time. Fingers crossed for you. 🤞
I wish I could give you some insight but mine was instant approval...I'm sorry you have to wait.
On the other hand at least you weren't instantly denied so there is that! I think you'll be fine and waiting does seem to be the norm for FNBO.

Yeah, I'm not used to waiting - normally instant decisions, good or bad. I'm fine with waiting but 3 weeks seems a little excessive. But such is life

I'm with you. That seems excessive. Makes me wonder how long it takes to resovlve problems like fraudulent charges.

That's a great point. Hopefully I get approved but never have to find out

Got a question here. I app'd for this a while back now. They pulled my credit report and I've since locked my reports.
My application is still pending, according to the site. My 'new' Cash Magnet account JUST hit my report today.
My question is: FNBO won't see this new AmEx account, right?
*Patiently waiting*
Cheers!

They would have to pull another report from someone after the AMEX started to report. A soft pull would tell the tale, it wouldn't need to be a hard pull.

I've wondered how much they see with a SP as opposed to a HP. Anyone here know?
Just an update for anyone interested.
Called into the FNBO number listed in the backdoor thread. Connected with one of the nicest CSR's I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with.
She informed me that UW has looked at my app and sent me snail mail on 8/19 requesting additional information. Unfortunately, she has no idea what that additional info is, as it's not noted in my file.
I asked her if, in her professional opinion, this sounded like a conditional approval - assuming I can provide the docs needed. She said 'there is no way for me to know that. All I can tell you is it's not been denied, yet'
I figured that'd be her response but I had to ask.
She let me know I should see this snail mail in 7-10 business days. She also said 'I see we have your email on file, check there to be sure we didn't send the request for info there as well' - no dice on the email
