My FNBO card was opened in November, so I figured I'd call and see if there were any SP CLI for me. I waited on hold for over an hour and a half (good thing I was able to multitask and do some work). CSR asked for monthly housing payment and annual income. I gave it, then she said she would need to do a HP. "Is it okay if I proceed?" she asked. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Thanks for your time. I wonder where I went wrong with the request.

You weren't eligible for the sp cli

From your scores, I'm presuming you don't have high utilization on any of your cards...maybe you haven't been using the card enough? I know when I got mine, I took advantage of the 0% APR BT period and transferred just under 88% (including the BT fee), and kept that there for a few months before paying it down under 28%. My overall usage when I requested my CLI was about 20%, and I only got a $1500 CLI, but it was a soft pull.

My overall util hovers between 1 - 2%. I either pay the card in full or allow $7 to report. Usually, it's the latter. I have spent just over $15K on the card since I've gotten it and always PIF, even though it's on a 0% promo. Going forward, it will be much more of a driver for me. I was working on getting CLI from Disco and now CapOne (we shall see), so I began diverting some of my FNBO spend to them. Next month, regardless of what happens with CapOne, I shall begin using FNBO more heavily. I'll try again in a few months for the soft pull.

Which card is this one (of FNBO)? Maybe, different strokes for different cards? I hv two FNBO cards...one is first community bank- i got sp cli on that for a big amount yesterday but at the same got denied sp cli on another fnbo card- bp card that transferred to then just a few weeks ago from synch that i hv for many years...so different strokes for different cards with them, seems like it...

It's the Evergreen Signature Visa.

You can try again next month (or every month, if need be) until the account becomes eligible for the SP CLI offer. All FNBO personal accounts follow similar CLI performance guidelines, however, sometimes it's a timing thing but I'm sure you'll eventually qualify for one.

Thanks for the info @FinStar. I will try again in July after the statement closes.
Called today and got a SP CLI of $5K to $20K. Waited a week+ after the statement cut to make the call.
