So I am trying to gather some data points on FNBO and Synchrony (Visa/Mastercards) score and INQ/New accounts thresholds. What is the general consensus on FNBO and Synchrony Visa/Mastercard approval as far as credit score, number of recent INQ and accounts. I am in the garden however when I come out of the garden I would like to try for at least one FNBO card and a couple Synchrony Visa/Mastercards.
Xace
Hi there! I was approved for an FNBO Sheetz Visa card in Feb 2015. I had maybe 3 inquiries within the previous 6 months on EX at the time, a score of 679, and about 8-9 newly opened accounts from November.
I was approved for an Ebates Visa from Synchrony in May of 2015. With 5 or so inquiries within the last 6 months on TU, a score of 697, and 6 or so new accounts within the previous 6 months.
Hoping this will be helpful for you!
I'm holding out for the Sam's Club MasterCard and I haven't really seen anyone around the forum mentioning an approval for that card with scoress less than 725. It may be different between Synch products. I don't want to run the risk of getting the store card so I'm holding out until TU is at least 725.

Yeah 700-720 seems to be the threshold for Synchrony Visa/Mastercards

Holy moly is that for real 70 Inq? Guess its safe to say Sync is not Inq sensitive
I got the FNBO Overstock Mastercard, with a CL of $1200. My credit score was in the 630's and I had 24 or 25 inquiries.

The only Synchrony MC/V I have experience with is the Sam's Club MasterCard, and I was approved with a TU hovering just below 710, so it is definitely possible to "squeak by" with a score under 725.
While I think I recall seeing an approval for someone barely below 700, I probably would hold off until I was at least at 700 (preferrably 710 or higher) to have the best chances. My approval was for an initial credit line of $1500, so that might be an indicator that I was borderline. (The credit line has since grown nicely).
As a data point, my two oldest accounts are Synchrony (Lowe's and Belk) and are 12 and 10 years old, respectively, so that might have helped a bit. At the time I had one inquiry on TU.
Hope this helps.
Edit: Fixed typo

I totally agree that over 700 is probably the best way to go. I was approved for the Ebates with a 697 but with, from what I have seen on the forum, the lowest SL....leaving me to think I barely squeaked by. The SAMS MC seems to be even "trickier"! Though now that my TU is at 756, I must admit to being tempted
@CountryLivin
How long did your approval for FNBO Overstock MC take?
Did you get email or letter?
Did they contact you at all before approval?
They recvd my app on 7/14 and I know they take awhile...685 EX w/7 INQ (one in last 6 months)
Reading your response here has given me a bit of hope, but not holding my breath.
TIA!
