Good thread!
I was receiving CLI monthly like clockwork on J Crew and Overstock. Now I just get the letter when I try the button. When I get the letter in the mail it gives me a weird EQ score that is about 120 points lower than my FICO score. My accounts are still open, though. Small balance on the Overstock and J Crew is paid off. They are about 6-7 months old.
IIRC, HPs are expected for a variety of CLI requests whether online - box or no box - or automated phone system. Hard to say which accounts will still qualify for SP CLI but they are definitely adjusting their parameters for any CLI requests. Pizza posted about this not long ago after discovering a few HPs on her CRs (which she swore would never be a Comenity thing but it happened, and was confirmed by her experience and other members' threads)

Thank goodness this HP didn't cause a drop in my score.lol!!!
Score isn't everything other creditors are able to see this HP ... Although inquiries are a bit overrated, but can come back and byte you in the future applying for new credit either by denial for to many recent inquiries or worse terms being higher apr and the likes. Just a component of your whole credit profile
How strange. Just requested cli's on my overstock and VS cards probably 10 days ago and I never received an alert that a HP had been performed.
I just recieved 4 CLI with Comenity and they were soft pulls...all of them. I didn't call in, I just pressed the luv button. Sorry to hear about your HP.
I dunno people.
All this changing up that Comenity is done to the online experience as well as popping people with unexpected HP's has really soured me on them. I had expected at least a few credit increase requests after 4 months with my newest cards such as TrueValue/Marathon etc. but if this is going to become their new trend then i just as well might not even use even those new cards i was just approved for a few months ago.
It's their own stupid fault that someone higher up brought down the hammer on the technical end with all those nonstop Massive Blasts of limits on cards like a Maurices, Barneys and such, but dropping in surprise HP's on limit increase requests for mediocre limit cards just plain is IMO off the charts and may very well steer many others to migrate completely away from them.
Personally i'm going to track this trend until Winter is over (i hope) and if this continues (OR IF I DISCOVER AN UNREQUESTED HP) that's it for me Barney's or no Barneys, JCrew or no JCrew and so forth and so on.
Because of the recent results being posted i've completely cleared the board of ANY Comenity balances and not so sure i will even use ANY of them until or unless better more positive results convince me otherwise.
So sorry that some cardholders have had to take it on the chin so severely in some cases.
