Any great success lately with Fifth Third approvals (high SCLs, etc.)? And/or any information about Fifth Third credit cards?
Fifth Third just sent me a pre-approval for the TRIO card. It has a $100 signup bonus for $1,500 spend in 90 days...which I know is just an ok bonus for higher spend than usual....but what stops me is that I just researched it and I realized that I don't have 3% off on restaurants (unless I Discover rotates to restaurants or I pick restaurants for Huntington Voice).
Should I bite? (I'll have more restaurant spending this summer for vacations). Are there better 3%-off-for-restaurant cards? But I'd have to measure that against the signup bonus as well.
I should probably garden but part of the fun for me is maximizing my rewards and %s off (I always pay in full each statement on every card I have, unless I'm using a 0% card to finance something).
< crickets chirping > So NO ONE has a Fifth Third credit card of any kind, nor the TRIO? :'(
Funny thing, I received same letter also. No idea about this bank, I used to bank with them long time ago, not anymore. Let's hope some other members will have valuable input here
Don't know if this will help, but I was recently approved for the Platinum unsecured card (Employee Only). 12,500 SL and 6.99% APR

Anything helps. Thank You!

It helps!
Do you mean that you are a Fifth Third Employee? What do you know about starting credit limits, etc.? I've dug around on MyFico and I've seen a post about someone getting a $17,000 SCL on one of their cards (!) but I'm wondering how often that happens.

Yeah, they have a presence in my city. I don't bank with them, though. The card itself is lackluster except it offers 3% Cash Back for Restaurants, which I'm indifferent to considering there are other cards that have 3% on Restaurants AND other categories (Chase AARP, for example). So the draw for me would be how high of a SCL they give, typically, and how often the increases come, etc.
Plus, it looks like I would get the card if I applied -- it's more affirmative than usual (compared to offers that say things like "pre-selected TO APPLY", etc.
Still looking for Fifth Third info if anyone has it.

WHAT THE HECK! AND THEY ARE CLOSED FOR THE DAY
I got the pre-approval yesterday also in the mail. $350 after $500 spend in 90 days? I looked all over their website. It's $100 after $500 spend. BUT! I already researched. They aren't too BK friendly. It's enticing. My Cap1 Premiere should arrive today. Basically the same perks. But it is nice to finally see a bank send out a mailer. I may go by the branch. Switch checking/savings over from Chase who wouldnt look at me for a CC and get $200 to open the accounts. $550 if I jumped. Decions decisions....
