First New Card in 5 Years

Hey all!

I have been in the garden for half a decade, but as I am just to close on my mortgage I am going to add a new card to the fold (post closing of course) - Looking for a limit 10k+

  • Current FICO 8 scores 737 EX, 744 EQ, 689 TU
  • AAoA is currently 7 years 3 months
  • Util over all cards is 37% but will go down post home close.
  • Cards currently: Chase Freedom 8k limit, Discover 14.5k limit, Synchrony Amazon 6.5k, Citi Rewards 6.5k, BOA 4k, WF 1k
    • I had a bunch of closed accounts from 2013-2015 when I went bonkers applying for anything I could get. CapOne, 475 different Synchrony cards, Funriture store cards etc.
  • No baddies at all.
  • Open car loan, closed car loan, closed mortgage, closed personal loan.
  • Salary: about as low as 6 figures can possible be.

Any ideas? I haven't done too much research at this stage, just starting the process now.

Thanks all!

What kind of spend would it be used for?

To be honest haven't put a ton of thought into it, this thread was more me just musing about the fact I felt the urge to apply someplace..

Currently we do most of our spending on my wifes PNC Flex Visa for the cash back purpose, but I would be open to switching that around to something new and exciting. haha

Re: First New Card in 5 Years

I’d say a card that has no annual fee or one that is relatively low and provides great cash back on things such as gas and grocery.

Id look into Pnc cash rewards visa. 4% on gas, 3% dining (includes take out and drive thru) 2% on groceries and 1% on all other

or check AMEX prequel site. Both solid choices in my opinion

Congrats on your long term gardening!

With no new cards in a while,

Anything Chase with your scores?

Bank of America Cash Rewards?

American Express?

I know I am missing a lot here ...

The PNC card mentioned upthread is a real winnerSmiley Happy
