Yup, today would be a good day to close it. What's holding your scores OP? What's your overall utilization? In the grand scheme of things, if the card is not providing much of a benefit any longer then it's safe to say it can be closed.

Re: First Premier CLI DENIAL!

As already robustly advised you will want to scratch that card off as in close it so that it will only show closed on your reports..... is good advice.

utilization at 9 percent.  holding my score would be a remainder of my student loan  only 1700.00 left ( thank god) and my equifax is really low because i notice its saying i owe 5000 in student loans which isnt the case.  tu and ex are reporting correctly at 1700

No. Closing a card does not hurt your score unless it makes your utilization increase dramatically. The account will continue to report on your credit reports for 10 years. When the account finally does fall off, you will have several other accounts that will mitigate any damage to your scores.

Re: First Premier CLI DENIAL!

Looking at your siggy, you have some good cards that will grow with you.  Close that junk now.  I just did the same today with my Verve card.  It was one of my cards I opened up a year ago.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.
