First Tech Approval, but It's a No-Go from Me

Just received approval for First Tech Platinum Mastercard, $5,000 @ 14.99% -they pulled Experian. My EX8 670 and EX9 689, $65K income..

Approval was subject to their request for 2 years of tax returns and recent proof of income.

Which I'd be happy to give them - except they only provided an email address to send those documents ( as attachments ). No secure website upload, no encryption options for their email, not even a physical address to mail paper copies as an alternative. To be fair, an upload option may be available if you have online banking with them, but as a potential new customer I didn't have that yet.

No thanks. Email isn't secure, and I'm not sending my social security number or other sensitive financial information in the clear.

I'd expect that a financial institution named "First Tech", headquartered in Silicon Valley, would know better. Smiley Frustrated

I've asked them to withdraw my application, and I mainly posted this here to let anyone who may not already know not to send anything through email that you wouldn't want the world to see.

I take it you attempted to apply for membership and the CC at the same time and hence why "no online banking" relationship exists?

You make a great point, I'm just wondering if you let the membership open...and then apply if that makes a difference in providing you a secure portal to upload.

I have 100k in CL with First Tech.... I can say.... even with online banking & app, you have to email them any documents related to income!
