When I login to my Firrst tech FCU, I see the pop up saying 'You’re pre-approved for a Choice Rewards World Mastercard® with a bonus $25 statement credit' . How solid is their pre-approval?
I can't speak to the quality of their preapprovals but you're an interesting data point because of your total credit limit. I would guess that your TCL was much lower than it is now when you first joined the CU.
If you decide to apply please follow up with the results.
+1
Only a CF would call a MF a DP
Im guessing for a lender as conservative as First Tech that those who already have credit with them, which are normally high limits, a preapprovalfrom them would be as close as a sure thing . Of course ymmv and look at how active youve been recently in credit seeking or usage to best determine ones chances.
please indeed follow back up. My experience lately is every CU seems to hate those high credit line factors.

First Tech normally does, but not all of them do. AOD, BECU, and NFCU don't.
Update: Accepted the pre-approval and put in the application which went into pending/ further review.
Next day got the denial email due to excessive available credit!! So no go with First Tech FCU and it's a hard stop!
On a brighter side, I got approved for credit cards from Red Stone FCU and Affinity FCU and became member of BECU, ETFCU and PSECU.

First Tech is still behaving like First Tech. 😒 I'm sorry to read of but not surprised by the denial.
Congrats on your other approvals for both cards and memberships.
Yep first tech does not like alot of available credit and hasnt changed from your DP. Basically if you have a few hundred k in credit they want nothing to do with you unless of course you got that credit before with them initially then built it from there.
@coldfusion AOD does now, there policies have changed over the past few months. I was denied for the sole reason of too much exposure.
