@CreditCuriosity wrote:Yep first tech does not like alot of available credit and hasnt changed from your DP. Basically if you have a few hundred k in credit they want nothing to do with you unless of course you got that credit before with them initially then built it from there.
@CreditCuriosity, @Anonymous, @coldfusion, I just got the same pre-approval in my email tonight. I wonder how they will react to me. Now to weigh, try and see, or keep my silver spade. 🤔

Your scores are high enough, your TCL is low enough, and you already have a few cards with a $10K CL all of which would work in your favor.
As you point out, there is value to having a silver spade.

With $122K TCL, I wouldn't think your chances are great unless your income has gone up a lot from what you said it was before. I would keep the spade.
Not sure of your income but 122k TCL they will entertain depending on your scores/income. You might have a shot depending as your file looks good otherwise being cards/limits. First thing I looked at was your total available credit
. Been several years since applkied but believe it was an experian HP if not mistaken as well

@CreditCuriosity, income is $45k yr.
edit: My EX INQ's are 1/6, 10/12, & 29/24.

I would probably hold off to be honest if I were you. The usually dont like alot of credit being excess of > 200kish and usually they don't like your credit > income in your case you have about 3 times amount of credit than income so another strike against you on a very very conservative CU. Their UW can always change, but havent seen any recent dp's of it and at least one or two declines recently with pre-approvals.

Thank you. I guess I will hold off for now.

@macinjosh I echo exact things what @CreditCuriosity said. First tech is very conservative when it comes approving credit cards for people having TCL over their Income. I have first hand experience with them and also seen few DPs regarding that in this forum. No point in wasting an HP for an lost cause! For your profile there are better CUs out there who will treat you well.

Wow, they are surprisingly persistent. I filled out the application the other night before I posted in here and then just hit save application, and now earlier this afternoon, they sent me an email from a consumer lending sales rep.

Yes sales rep != UW though when they see application. Just a HP; but I think it would yield a denial, but if you want to be a GP for the forum we always welcome data points.
