@MyLoFICO wrote:Every time I get a mailer like that and get denied I visualize everyone at the bank breaking out in laughter and screaming, "I told you he would apply again!!!" And they all laugh and giggle, then go on smoke/coffee breaks and laugh a little more and share screenshots on their phones of my 7-10 day message.
Sorry you got denied.
As I read this I was picturing the reps doing all this. lol
Well I was checking my phone and decided to check the Discover app online status site and I then see the chat link come up and I click on it. I tell rep that I had applied sunday through an invitation code and I received the 5-7 message and I called but two reps weren't able to locate my application and the last rep asked me if I wanted to re-apply and I did. She then tells me she was able to see two apps that day and only one is allowed in 30 days so the second one was processed and declined with the option for a joint applicant.
Don't know what happened with the first app but more than likely it would've been a declined. I'm done with Discover for now.
You know you're getting a Discover mailer today, right?

More than likely. I think I'll just collect them instead of dumping them in the trash.

Many years ago I used to get them from Amex almost daily for me and my business even after getting denied. I called a few times to stop them and they said they would but I kept getting them for months on end. I started taking them and stuffing the entire contents into the NO POSTAGE NECESSARY envelope they provided and sending them back to them without filling out anything. They pay the postage based on weight so I would save my junk mail and stuff their envelopes chock full and send them back. It took about 2 months but they stopped showing up.

Thanks for the idea. So far one is ready.

Happy to help. If you get any junk mail with refrigerator magnets or pens, send those along too. They add extra weight. Might not be much but it made me feel better.

So she said she could see both apps but didn't tell what was going on with the first one? How frustrating

Yes exactly what happened. It was like another dagger to the heart. Wish she would've lied and said I only see the second app.
