First post/AMEX AU is app a hard pull?

First post, THANK YOU ALL, for the massive amount of knowledge I have been scrolling the forums for over 6 months now finally decided to make an account.

On to the question, I’m an AU on DW’s Amex ED Amex sent me emails I have my own account online I log into, I was wondering if applying for a card will result in a HP or SP?

Hi @Anonymous, welcome to the forums.

Even though you're currently an AU on DW's AmEx, and if this will be your first non-AU AmEx, then your application will be a HP.

Thank you! And thanks for the reply, when I do the prequalify from account it says “get decision in 30 seconds” is this solid prequal?

My first Amex app was from the 1980's and it was a tri-fold paper app ..lol

Does it have a solid APR? and not a range? .. I think solid APR's are pretty strong.

Someone correct Me if I am wrong?

@Anonymous, wait for the more knowledgeable to answer. Just to be on the safe side.

You may also list your EX score and The Average age of your credit profile. as to give others

insight to better help you. maybe what cards you currently hold and the balances.

The common presumption is for personal cards, "extending your relationship" is a no go.

For business cards, "accept offer" is an approval.

"Decision in 30 seconds" is not definitive either way.

For Amex "prequalify" is more like "pre-screened."  It means that you've met the basic criteria the look for, but they still have to evaluate your credit profile by pulling your Experian credit report.
