I asked online for a CLI on my Freedom last night and got a reference number and the 7-10 day message this morning. No hits to the CRs have popped up. Is it too early to call the recon/credit analyst line? Do I need to wait for a denial?

I have never heard of anyone calling a Chase credit analyst for a CLI only for new cards and recon. Although there is a first time for everything, I wouldn't call. Chase does not have a CLI button anyway so how do you request it to get that message? I am curious..
Also, if we start calling credit analysts even for CLI directly, they will be taking the recons/access to credit analysts away as they will be bombarded with calls for such requests. That is why BOA constantly changes their numbers in their case.

I agree on the over calling, hence the question. Sometimes that message is a flag for further info (like Amex), or a soft denial, or it really does mean 7-10 days to wait. I'm perfectly happy to wait, but on the off chance it's code for more info, I'd hate to lose my window.

I've talked to an analyst for a credit limit increase almost everytime and they never seemed irritated about it. They will usually say they can't process it unless a customer service representative takes it first, but they've no issue with you ringing in for a decision.
I recommend ringing now and telling them that you just want to see if it can be approved or not right away. They're good people.
I got the 7-10 day message when I asked for a CLI on my freedom a coulple weeks ago. The next day the increase was showing on my account. Id call if you dont see anything in a day or two.

That's probably a good way to do it. I'll see if there's anything showing online tomorrow and then brace for the call to the credit analyst!
Thanks everyone! This community is well worth its weight in gold!
No official notification yet, but I logged into my account and noticed they'd added $1000 to my CL, bringing it to a whopping $1500. Let's hope they stick by the no HP for 1k or less! Either way, it makes me happy to have some more wiggle room on there!
Freedom CLI request success! Yay!
I'm crossing my fingers for one! None of the regulars alerted me to a pull, and I have monitoring with everyone. [Thanks Home Depot and Anthem for the constant paranoia!]
